FAQs

Do you have availability?

We currently have a waitlist. Waiting times are dependent on clinician availability, suitability and families flexibility with appointments.

Do I need a referral?

A referral is not required to see a speech pathologist, but your GP may recommend our services through a Medicare health plan.

How long is each therapy session?

Therapy sessions are billed on an hourly basis, although they typically last around 45 minutes. The remaining time is allocated for writing session notes, preparing resources, and addressing any relevant emails. Session notes are then emailed to the family and can be shared with the child's teacher upon consent.

How often should therapy sessions occur?

The frequency of therapy sessions is determined based on the child's needs and treatment plan. It can range from once a fortnight to multiple sessions per week.

What funding options do you accept?

We accept the following funding and rebates:
- Medicare
- Private Health Insurance
- NDIS self managed and plan managed participants

How do you measure progress?

In each session, the speech pathologist will record information and make notes on any progress made in line with the child's goals.

Will I get a summary of the Initial Consultation?

Absolutely. Every initial consultation includes a detailed summary letter. This document outlines the key points from the initial meeting, encompassing clinical observations, recommendations, goals, and a proposed therapy plan. If your therapist advises a formal assessment and report, this will be scheduled for subsequent sessions and will involve associated charges.

Do you offer Allied Health Assistant (AHA) services?

Yes we do. We offer AHA services in the community and via Telehealth for Talk and Play clients.
